Hotel Overview
The Hotel Tjampuhan was built in 1924 for the guests of the Royal Prince of Ubud. It later became the starting point of Pita Maha, an artists' association where many of Ubud's noted artists met. The hotel was recently renovated under the supervision of the Ubud Royal Family. The heart of the hotel is the historic former home of artist Walter Spies.Traditionally built thatched roof villas are scattered amongst the landscaped terraces offering private views of the tropical river valleys and the 900-year old Gunung Lembah Temple.
