Candidasa is a little visited area in Bali compared to towns like Kuta, Seminyak and Ubud although in recent years more and more resorts are opening up there. This is a beautiful sea side resort area in the regency of Karangasem in East Bali which is well known for its dive spots. Beaches here are volcanic black sand beaches, which came about when Mt. Agung last exploded in 1963.

From Candidasa, you are not far off from Padang Bai, where you can catch a ferry to the island of Nusa Penida. If you enjoy diving, you are much closer to dive locations such as Nusa Penida, Amed and Tulamben, all along the North East coast of Bali.

On one side you will have sea views and the other you will have the magnificent view of Mt Agung looming high above.
