Tanah Lot, the famous temple on a rock off the west coast of Bali will be the site of a 9 day art festival from May 30th to June 7th 2009. The purpose of holding the art festival is to preserve Balinese culture and showcase it to the world.

The program will include not only the various Balinese dances but will also display Balinese art and have a Baleganjur Parade (Gamelan orchestral music).  Balinese food will also be sold at food stalls set up.

Some of the performances you will see are the Barong dance, Baris (Warrior) dance, Barong Bangkung dance, Topeng Bondres dance, Wayang Wong dance, Joged Bumbung dance, Gong Festival, Classical Art “Mandolin”, Clasical Art “Andir” and more.

Performances and displays will be held at the Surya Mandala Cultural Park and Pakendungan Temple Hall at Tanah Lot. Performances start at 3pm, 5pm and 7pm.
