Overview
The Royal Pita Maha Hotel is a romantic hotel located 1.5m north west of Ubud town centre in the picturesque area known as Kedewatan along which the Ayung River runs. The newest in a chain of hotels owned by the Royal Family of Ubud, these hotel villas are built in traditional Balinese style with thatched roofs and set within a walled compound.
The hotel overlooks the Ayung River Valley and is surrounded by tropical forests. Villas are staggered along the slope of the hillside all the way down to the river. A lift takes you down from the main hotel building to the section of the hotel where the villas are built. From here, you enter a magical land of water features and pathways lined with overflowing spider lilies.
Villas at the Royal Pita Maha
The Royal Pita Maha is a luxurious hotel. There are 3 classes of villas ; Pool Villa, Healing Villa and Royal Villa. The Healing Villa is different from the Pool Villa in that it is not only larger by 100 sqm but is surrounded by an organic farm and close to a spring water pool. The Royal Villa is the largest villa and has a Wedding Chapel making it ideal for a wedding or bridal party.
The villas are very spacious with huge bathrooms that have large bathtubs. Furnishings and bedding are chosen to give you a luxurious and romantic feel when you step into the villas. Rooms have floor to ceiling glass windows so that you can see as much of the view as possible. Each villa has its own private pool and garden. Naturally, the Royal Pita Maha is a perfect location for a romantic stay or to spend your honeymoon.

Facilities at Royal Pita Maha Hotel
When you choose to stay at the Royal Pita Maha, you are in for a treat. The hotel has 4 pools : 2 large swimming pools. 1 holy spring water pool and a spring water lagoon built along the river. Yoga classes are also conducted at the resort and there is a wide open air meditation bale, where you can enjoy the surrounding forest.
Kirana Spa
While you are there, you must try out one of the spa treatments at the Kirana Spa right next to the resort. The Kirana Spa is a luxury spa concept by Shiseido of Japan. They have their own spa villas where treatments are carried out. The spa villas have jacuzzis and pools for guest use if you take one of their programs that include "Spa Time". This is where you get 60 minutes of extra time to use the villa facilities such as the jacuzzi, herbal steam sauna and pool.
Restaurants
There are 4 restaurants at the Royal Pita Maha. Three are located on each of the 3 floors of the main hotel building. When you dine here, you will have beautiful views of the surronding valley. The fourth restaurant is down by the river. This restaurant serves healthy food using vegetables grown from their own organic garden.
